Level 2 Wheel Throwing Course (4 weeks)

If you've thrown on the wheel before, and you want to continue to refine your skills, then this 4-week course is for you.  This course will also suit intermediate students who have specific projects in mind.

Your tutor will demonstrate how to develop your throwing skills on the pottery wheel to make bowls, plates and larger pieces. You'll trim and turn your best pots, have them bisque fired and then you can glaze them, ready for their final firing, to pick up later. 

This class is limited to 6 students per class, so you'll get the attention you need. 

You'll be able to use studio tools and 10 kilos of stoneware clay to make your pieces and be able to fire your best 6 pieces, in your choice from 4 studio glazes (or use your own). You can purchase more clay at $25 a bag. You can also purchase your own pottery tool starter kit. 

Students just need to bring an old shirt/or an apron, an old towel, large clear-plastic bags and wear closed-in shoes. We recommend relaxed fitted pants/trousers for wheel throwing.

Sustainability is very important to us, so all unfired clay is reused and we recycle most of our water too. 

Please note - you must be available on scheduled days and times, as it's difficult to reschedule classes. Fees will apply for any makeup classes.  A minimum of 3 participants is required for the course to go ahead.
