Clay & Sip (2 hour Pottery Wheel Class)
Here's something new and creative to do with friends - a 2-hour clay workshop in our ceramic studio based in Sydney Inner West's Drummoyne.
You'll learn to use a pottery wheel to make a small bowl or cup or a small plant pot, whilst enjoying a glass of wine. You bring the wine and we supply glasses and some cheese.
You don't need any experience, so beginners are welcome. We supply stoneware clay, tools and an experienced ceramics instructor will teach you various techniques to build and decorate your pieces.
You get to choose your 2 best pieces (or more for $10 per piece) and select your choice of glazes. We'll then turn (trim the base) for you, bisque fire, glaze & fire them to 1260 degrees. See pics for recent work. A few weeks later, you'll have usable, food-safe pieces of ceramics.
To kick off the evening, you'll get to taste some award-winning Australian wines, courtesy of Millon Wines, with family-owned vineyards in the renowned wine regions of Barossa Valley, Eden Valley and Clare Valley. Try their Pinot Grigio, Riesling or Shiraz.
We provide the clay, tools and firing, as well as cheese and crackers. You bring:
Be ready to have some fun! You may even get addicted and want to enrol in a longer course to develop your skills.
