Adults Clay Hand Building Pottery Courses with Tanya Bechara
We're excited to offer this 4 or 8-week hand building pottery course in Sydney's Inner West, for beginner and advanced clay hand builders.
Each class caters to your skill level, whether you're after beginner pottery classes, or want to build on existing experience with a more advanced pottery course. Join us for 2.5 hours each week, on the same day and time, over 4 consecutive weeks (or 8 weeks, if you book 2 consecutive courses) at our pottery studio in Drummoyne, Sydney's Inner West.
What you'll do
Demonstration
Beginner students will learn the fundamental skills of hand building with clay, while advanced students will build on existing hand building and decorating skills. Either way, your instructor will guide you through the techniques you need for your level in this hands-on ceramic class.
Get hands-on and relax
Settle in and work at your own pace each week, developing your own artistic style in a fun and encouraging environment. It's a great way to unwind while exploring your creativity at our pottery studio in Drummoyne.
Help at hand
With a maximum of 6 students per session, you'll get caring guidance and technical support throughout, whatever your skill level, in one of our most personalised pottery classes in Sydney.
The results
As your confidence grows, you'll move on to designing your own projects, with a strong emphasis on exploring surface decorative techniques and, for advanced students, sculpting techniques too. Beginners can have up to 4 pieces decorated and glazed across the 4-week course, while 8-week students can decorate and glaze up to 8 pieces. Want to make more? Additional pieces can be finished for $15 each.
You glaze, we fire
You'll glaze and decorate your own pieces as part of this hands-on pottery course, with guidance from your instructor along the way. Once you're happy with your pieces, our studio takes care of firing them for you, ready for collection.
Your instructor
You'll be taught by Tanya Bechara, a potter and ceramics artist since 1999, who has been teaching adults since 2005 and children since 2009. Tanya has won several awards for her ceramic art, and her work is collected both nationally and internationally.
