Kids & Teens After-School Pottery Wheel Throwing Course
So many kids have asked for more pottery wheel time, so we're running our After School Pottery Wheel Course in Drummoyne, Sydney's Inner West
Sign your child up for this 4-week course to explore the entire pottery-making process. Each session runs for 2 hours, with structured guidance to help your child develop and practise their creative abilities while having a great time. Your child needs to be 140cm or taller, and you're welcome to book your own spot too.
What you'll do
Demonstration
Our experienced ceramics instructor kicks things off with a wheel-throwing demo, showing your child the techniques they'll need to centre and shape clay into bowls, cups or plant pots.
Sit back and watch (or join in)
Settle in and watch your child get hands-on at the wheel, or book your own spot and create alongside them for a shared experience.
Help at hand
With a maximum of 6 students per session, your child will get plenty of one-on-one guidance from our instructor so they feel confident and supported throughout.
The results
Over the 4 weeks, your child will get lots of practice centring and shaping vessels, then trim their favourite 6 pieces in preparation for finishing.
Your child takes their pottery through every step
Your child will experience the entire pottery-making process themselves. In the final week, their bisque-fired pieces will be ready for them to hand-paint with underglazes or dip glaze, with finished pottery ready for pick up about 3 weeks later. Want them to keep more than 6 pieces? Extra pieces can be finished for $10 each.

Knowledge required
None at all. This course is a great way for your child to build on skills from our Kids Wheel Throwing class and develop confidence over multiple weeks.

- An apron (or grab one of our new GG aprons for $14)
- An old towel

Important info
- Maximum 6 students per session; minimum 4 students required for the course to run
- Children must be at least 140cm tall
- Course can't be rescheduled without 48 hours' notice
- You must be available for all scheduled days and times, as availability for makeup sessions is limited. Fees apply for any makeup classes
- We're committed to sustainability: all unfired clay is reclaimed and reused and we recycle the majority of our studio water
